Sonica runs an ethical design and production company with a focus on creating a positive impact, both socially and environmentally. By engaging artisan workers in communities across India, she aims to actively improve the lives of those living on the poverty line and create a far-reaching socio-economic impact that will last for generations.

Like us, she believes in providing stable employment for vulnerable artisan communities living below the poverty line, providing education and healthcare for their children, giving them a chance at a better future, empowering women financially, and preserving eco-friendly craft and community practices.

Ethical Edit’s founder, Juliana, has built up a solid relationship with Sonica Sarna, giving us access to a vast offering of specialty artisan skills and ethically sourced garment and textiles – most recently, a range of gorgeous artisan bags.

What’s even more inspirational about Sonica Sarna is Projecthrive, the sewing center she has helped set up for at-risk women in the heart of the slums of New Delhi. It’s designed to empower women and given them a voice and the right to make choices in their lives – by training them in sewing, cutting, quality control and packing.

Projecthrive aims to employ at-risk women and provide them with stable jobs and living wages, offering them additional benefits such as healthcare and flexible hours for childcare and housework, a safe commute to and from work, and a scholarship fund for future education.
